With the passing of the MATE Act, all clinicians applying for their initial DEA registration or seeking renewal are required to complete 8 hours of accredited training in the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders (SUD).
This 8-hour MOUD course satisfies that requirement. It is intended for practitioners with limited SUD training who seek an overview of foundational topics. It includes 8 modules that are considered to provide a strong foundation in SUD. They provide an overview of SUD; screening, assessment, and initiation of SUD treatment; addressing stigma and use of appropriate medical terminology and language; medication treatments for opioid and alcohol use disorders; opioid analgesics and pain; other SUDs (e.g., stimulant and benzodiazepine use disorder); and opioid overdose education and naloxone.
It is important to note that each individual module will provide its own CE certificate. You will need to claim each CE certificate individually after you have completed that module. After you have completed all the modules the final certificate will indicate you completed the 8 Hour MOUD Training. The PDF containing that final certificate will also provide each individual CE certificate. If you have not yet claimed that certificate, that CE will be blank.
Please note that some of these trainings are expiring on January 12, 2026. We are adding additional trainings to this bundle which are equivalent to them. You can take either the old or new version of the training - both will count towards the completion of this 8 Hour Training.
