Drug Trends – Where are We Today?

Target Audience: This activity is designed for dentists, administrative staff, physicians, social workers, students and educators, and interprofessional teams. 

Webinar Description: The ADA, in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), is pleased to present a three-part webinar series with the goal of educating dentists and dental team members about current topics. Attendees will come to understand where we are in the opioid crisis today and learn about some current drugs to watch for. The training will highlight DEA’s “One Pill can Kill” campaign. In addition, the training will let attendees know where to locate pertinent information on DEA regulations and other resources.

Educational Objectives:

  • Summarize the responsibilities of the DEA Diversion Program
  • Identify where we are with the Opioid Crisis today
  • Recognize which drugs are being seized and analyzed
  • Cite some drug combinations with abuse potential
  • Recognize where to locate DEA regulations and other resources
