Webinar Description: The Hepatitis C Virus is an RNA virus that is not vaccine preventable and is the most common blood-borne infection in the US. The majority of people exposed to the virus will develop chronic infection and it has evolved into an intergenerational epidemic; baby boomers and young people who inject drugs are the most afflicted. This webinar aims to show providers the treatment techniques when working with a patient with co-morbid SUD and HCV.

Educational Objectives:

• Explain hepatitis C elimination campaigns and that prior authorization requirements and provider restrictions have been lifted.
• Compare and contrast treatment techniques which are specific to people who use drugs (PWUD).
• Use adult HCV screening methods and evaluate treatment methods if a patient has the infection.
• Work with healthcare team to identify methods to use direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) and to implement key steps in treatment
