Pediatric Half and Half MAT Waiver Training
Educational Objectives

This program will provide an array of background and clinical information concerning the pharmacological use of buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid addiction. At the conclusion of this course, participants will have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Describe the fundamentals of office-based opioid treatment including the treatment of co-occurring psychiatric illness.
  • Explain the process of opioid use disorder (OUD) assessment, and buprenorphine induction, stabilization and maintenance.  
  • Discuss other approved antagonist and agonist medications to treat OUD.
  • Apply for a Data 2000 Waiver to begin utilizing buprenorphine in the treatment of patients with OUD.

 

Target Audience
This activity will assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who wish to apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorders.
