About: This course provides interventionists, case managers, and community professionals with essential knowledge and skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to overdose situations. Participants will explore the causes, risk factors, and signs of opioid and polysubstance overdose, with a focus on high-risk populations. Through harm reduction strategies and hands-on training in naloxone (Narcan) administration, learners will be equipped to save lives and connect individuals to ongoing care. The course also addresses stigma, the integration of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), and the critical role of post-overdose support in recovery planning. Emphasis is placed on community engagement, compassionate care, and creating safe, informed environments for individuals at risk of overdose.
