Presenter: Stephanie Rozen, Director, Addiction Information + Management Strategies, Columbia University Irving Medical Center
Stephanie Rozen (she/her) is an LCSW and CASAC that brings over 20 years of professional experience and another couple of decades of lived experience to the work of supporting people who use drugs. Her approach is steeped in the principles of harm reduction, holding the respect and autonomy of the people she works with as the most sacred tenant of her care model. Stephanie has worked with adolescents, families, adults, people who are incarcerated, students, people with and without homes and various other cross-intersectional identities that comprise the dynamic tapestry of our communities.
Description: This 1.5-hour virtual training will review practice skills and knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and enable participants to develop skills on Brief Negotiated Interview to connect participants with medical services. As a population that is often not comfortable with traditional hospital settings, this training will enhance engagement with lifesaving services.
