This 60-minute webinar for medical providers will explore challenges and strategies to providing equitable medical assessments in a correctional setting. Medical providers play a crucial role in ensuring that all individuals, including those in correctional settings, receive equitable healthcare that is free from racial bias. It is important for providers to understand the impact of systemic racism on health outcomes and to actively work towards addressing these disparities through their practice.

  • Understand 2-3 components of the impact of systematic racism.
  • Identify 2-3 strategies to implementing equitable assessments in correctional health.
  • Address 1-2 areas of impact that bias and stereotypes has on interactions with patients.
