About: This course equips interventionists and case managers with practical, client-centered harm reduction strategies to support individuals navigating substance use. Grounded in compassion and respect for autonomy, participants will learn to apply non-judgmental, evidence-based approaches that reduce health and social risks while fostering empowerment and trust. Topics include the history and principles of harm reduction, developing person-centered goals, building rapport, overcoming bias, integrating medical and social services, and creating realistic action plans. Through reflective exercises and case-based learning, participants will enhance their ability to provide holistic, culturally responsive care that meets clients where they are and promotes safer, healthier outcomes.
