EA SUD/OUD 101 & Brain Science of Addiction
Course Overview

Learning objectives:

  • Discuss current understanding of brain science related to addiction.
  • Review specific information related to opioids as well as stimulants.

Presenter: Paul Hunziker, MA, LMFT, SUDP, Paul has over 20 years of experience working in both the substance use and mental health treatment fields. Paul founded and directed a Washington state licensed substance use and mental health treatment agency focused on working with families. He has been training for the Addiction Technology Transfer Center as well as several other agencies since 2015, and he is currently in private practice in Tacoma, WA. He is also an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Approved Supervisor and has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers since 2014. He has hundreds of hours of experience training in topics such as motivational interviewing, clinical supervision, and family-based programming.
