7123-E Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorder Skills Workshop
Course Overview
Presenter: Paul Hunziker MA, LMFT, SUDP is in private practice in Tacoma, WA. Paul Facilitates trainings in many different topics some examples are motivational interviewing, clinical supervision, family-based programing. He has been studying MI since 2007 and was inducted into the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in October 2014, Paul has a background in experiential education and looks to create training events which engages participants thorugh multiple learning styles. Paul has also been providing Zoom based trainings since 2017 and has developed ways to make online teleconferencing trainings highly interactive and engaging.

About: This 3 part Zoom based training will help participants become more confident in talking to their clients about substance use. We will review basic information about the brain science of addiction and different levels of substance use. With opioids and stimulant use being reviewed in detail. there will also be experiential exercises that focus on developing skills for clearly communicating in a non-judgmental way about substance use with their clients. We will also discuss Ricky's Law to help participants understand the legal implications around substance use and crisis.
