Course Overview
Presenter: Dr. Danielle Jackson completed her adult psychiatry residency training at Yale University Department of Psychiatry.  She is the Medical Director of Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders at Sunset Terrace Family Health Center in Brooklyn, NY and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. In addition to clinical care, her work focuses on improving interdisciplinary training in mental health and substance use disorders to promote increased access to care. 

Learning Objectives:
    1. To review the definition of substance use disorder, opioid use disorder and addiction.
    2. To Discuss stigma and factors which contribute towards stigma for people who use drugs.
    3. To understand the waves of the opioid epidemic and the current state of the overdose crisis.
    4. To review FDA approved treatment for opioid use disorder.
