By now, you should have a good understanding of technical assistance and your role as a consultant in facilitating it, as well as general guidelines for producing materials for ORN. Now it's time to put it all together. In the following unit, we'll share some practical information that will help get you started, including consultant contracts, how to engage as an ORN consultant, and key responsibilities related to your role. As an additional resource, we've provided a range of PDFs with information about invoicing for your work and some frequently asked questions. We recommend reviewing and revisiting these documents as needed. Upon completion of this course, you'll be invited to review and complete your consulting contract. This contract outlines your responsibilities and the terms of your engagement with ORN. Contracts are valid from the point in which you sign with ORN until the end of the project year. Contract renewals take place every fall, regardless of when the contract was initiated. We'll send renewal contracts to individuals on our active consultant list, giving you the opportunity to continue consulting with ORN. As an ORN consultant, you play a crucial role in delivering technical assistance. Here's a refresher on how the process works. It should sound familiar. ORN technology transfer specialists, also known as TTSs, utilize a consultant directory to find the right match for their technical assistance requests. When a TTS identifies a potential match, they'll reach out to a consultant, which is where you come in. It's your responsibility as a consultant to respond to the TTS in a timely manner, if you have an interest in supporting the request. Not responding promptly may result in the opportunity being given to another consultant. It is the TTS's responsibility to work quickly, but we know you may be busy. Additionally, as a consultant, you cannot request your own services for technical assistance. Consultants submit invoices for work performed on active, approved TA requests. You will be emailed a monthly reminder to submit your invoice, with directions on how to do so. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the Opioid Response Network. Your expertise and support are vital in helping us to achieve our mission to improve substance use prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery for all people and communities. We look forward to working with you. As a reminder, there will be a brief quiz on this unit to test your understanding of the material. Once you're finished, you'll be able to download your Certificate of Completion. Thanks again for all of your work.
